Koko Beach Hotels & Suites is a beachfront resort built on a narrow sand spit between the Atlantic and a lagoon. It includes hotel blocks, suites, and thatched-roof villas, all set around a kidney-shaped party pool with a planted island at its centre.
Survey work followed the build from the first pegs to the finished structures. Building grids and foundation lines were set out from the master plan, and levels were controlled for strip foundations, ground beams, and blockwork. The pool took the most care: its curved, lobed outline was set out point by point, and its levels were checked before the shell and deck were poured.
Aerial photos taken during construction record the pool, the spa tubs, the pool-side building, and the villas along the beach as each one took shape.
